Maisie Utting specialises in sourcing secondhand natural fibres, dying these fibres by hand with either foraged plant material or plant dye extracts. Once dyed the small batch one of a kind colours are transformed into stitched products for your home.
This wallhanging is a celebration of colour and surface. The heather purple colour is created using oak gall extract and an iron after bath. The subtle differences in colour are created using two different strength dye baths. The acorn dyed thread acts in contrast.
Each wallhanging comes with corner edges to the back and a piece of wooden dowel for easy hanging.
The wallhanging is machine pieced, hand quilted using hand dyed cotton thread
